About us;
Our hospital was opened in 1987 as a 150-bed State Hospital. With the start of assistant training in 1988, Kartal Training and Research Hospital was named Kartal Doctor Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital, and in 2000, Doctor Lütfi Kırdar's name was added to our hospital. Since we moved to a new hospital as of May 2020, the name of our hospital has been changed to Kartal Doctor Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital.
By signing an affiliation protocol with the University of Health Sciences in 2015, our hospital also became the Health Application Research Center of the University of Health Sciences.
In addition to providing education to Medical Specialization students in 32 clinics with a bed capacity of 1141, our hospital provides services in a total of 52 branches, in 17 separate buildings, in 5 different districts: Kartal, Maltepe, Adalar, Pendik and Tuzla. As of June 2020, our hospital has become affiliated with SBU Hamidiye International Medical Faculty.

Our hospital provides health services to a wide population from outside the province and the country, especially Emergency, Trauma, Wound-Burn, Cancer Surgery and Oncological treatments (Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, etc.).
Our hospital's Cancer Surgery Clinics are a source of healing for our patients with their up-to-date knowledge and experience in the cancer diagnosis and treatment phase. In addition to high-tech devices such as Cyberknife, Rapid Arc, Brachytherapy and Tomotherapy devices in the Radiation Oncology Clinic, accurate and complete oncological treatments are applied to our patients with modern devices in the Medical Oncology Clinic.
We are a hospital that is a candidate to become a center of excellence in many areas such as Lung Cancer, Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, Gynecological Cancers, Prostate Cancer, Brain Tumors, Stroke Center and Wound-Burn Center.
Our hospital, which has the most equipped Wound and Burn Treatment Center in Turkey, provides very successful results in burn and wound treatment. The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center located within this center provides patients with complete wound treatment.
Kidney transplants and cornea transplants are performed successfully in our Organ Transplant Centers.
Our hospital, which has 45 operating rooms, one of which is a hybrid operating room, successfully treats critically ill patients with 205 Intensive Care Beds.
Our Emergency Medical Center provides emergency diagnosis and treatment to a large number of patients, as it is the most equipped emergency service in our region.
Stroke Center, Diabetes Center, Cornea Transplant Center, Kidney Transplant Center, Wound and Burn Center, Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Center, Community Mental Health Center, Breast Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment Center, ROP Diagnosis and Treatment Center, Obesity Center are some of the other specialized units of our hospital.
In addition, the 26-bed Hemodialysis Unit, the 11-unit Endoscopy Unit, the Physical Therapy Unit, the Audiology Unit, the Urodynamics, ESWL (Stomping Unit), ERCP Unit, the Angiography Unit and the Interventional Radiology Unit are other specialized units of our hospital that provide healthcare services.
In addition to providing the qualified services listed above, our hospital is among the leading health facilities of our Ministry of Health with Baby Friendly Hospital, Newborn Baby Friendly Hospital, Mother Friendly Hospital and Health Tourism certificates.
Our hospital has the title of being the first hospital in the world to receive both LEED GOLD and EDGE certificates, with its ability to meet energy efficiency and environmentally friendly design requirements.
Our hospital, which develops and grows by prioritizing patient and employee satisfaction, provides healthcare services in more modern and contemporary environments in its new building as of 2019.
Our hospital provides outpatient clinic services to approximately 20,000 patients.
