The wound and burn treatment center of our hospital was established on a separate area with a helipad in our hospital campus, built on 2.5 floors and has a total of 7.500 m2 closed area, with 20 burn service beds, 10 chronic wound service beds and 6 intensive care beds, with a total of 36 beds. It is one of the most equipped wound and burn centers in Turkey. In our center, polyclinic and service services were started in 2008, and as of April 2009, burn surgeries started to be performed.Our wound and burn treatment center provides 24-hour uninterrupted service. We also have a physiotherapy unit within our center, where 5 physiotherapists and 1 physiotherapist who only deal with burns are actively working. Our physicians working at the center are from the branches of General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery, and our burn intensive care treatments are carried out by our Anesthesia and Reanimation specialists.In our burn center, we have 2 operating rooms and 3 washing areas, one of which is for intensive care.
Post-discharge check-ups of the patients are carried out in our burns outpatient clinic, where we have a dressing room in addition to the outpatient clinic. There are closed and windowed visitor cabins where the relatives of the patients can watch and follow their inpatients in the burn center, and they can also make phone calls with their patients if they wish.
Our emergency burns polyclinic, where emergency patients are welcomed and their first washings and dressings are made, is located right at the entrance of our center. Visiting doctors from all centers in Turkey come to our center to receive training and are subjected to 3-month training.
We also have a wound polyclinic in our center, where wound care follow-up and treatment of wound patients are performed by plastic surgeons. A second wound polyclinic is carried out in our center by our Hyperbaric and Underwater physicians, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy is applied in a multi-person pressure room in cases with indications by these physicians. In addition, our wound and burn center hosts our weekly chronic wound council. Physicians from the branches of Infection, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics, Hyperbaric and Underwater, Internal Medicine, and Endocrinology participate in our chronic wound council, and the wound nurse is also present at the council.
Our wound and burn treatment center is a health institution that provides 24-hour uninterrupted service. It is an exemplary center in Turkey with its team that actively works in general surgery, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, anesthesia and reanimation, hyperbaric and underwater medicine, infection and physiotherapy branches, and is a turning point in the treatment of burn patients.
